I have a "thing" where I somewhat involuntarily tap my thighs,?
And mutter uh uh, i cant help it. Its been happening since I was a child.
My 9 year old niece even noticed this.
She asked me why but I didnt have the answers.
I have been diagnosed as bipolar. The meds dont stop my wierd tapping nor uh uh ing. What can it be? Its so embarrassing. And draws attention. I also have unchecked anxiety. But I doi this at home when Im relaxed. I want help but dont know what to ask for...
What is causing all this?

It sounds like a nervous habit. Try to replace it with another, more healthy or 'normal' habit.
Try putty, stress balls, or those rings that have a spinning center.
Here's one spinner ring:

You can find spinner rings online by searching spinner ring or spinning ring. Don't pay more than $15 total, though, they're not worth that much.

The spinner ring would probably work best and help you change your habit from muttering and tapping to simply playing with your ring.

Whenever you find yourself beginning to tap your thighs or mutter, force yourself to stop, and play with your ring instead.

You can also get medicine prescribed to help your tick to go away, probably anti-anxiety meds. I'd get the ring too, though-I'm on meds, but it calms me down to have something to do with my hands.

Sounds like a nervous tic. Speak to you're doctor about it and maybe he/she will prescribe an anti anxiety medicine for you

You should see a doctor or maybe try chewing gum to stop the "uh uh" thing.Stop the tapping by folding your hands together. Hope this helps:)

You have a tick, ticks are something that you keep doing over and over. Doctors have medicine to help with this. Do not be sad about it, there is always someone worse than you. Hope this helps.
