How do you make ear plugs work best? I can never get them to even stay in.

I need to be able to use the earplugs not only during my Monday night fellowship (it's for college-aged people so they have surround sound and crank up the volume during the praise songs) but I also need to be able to sleep at night with a puppy that won't stop whining at my door until her mom comes home. I've tried using them before but I can't figure out how to get them to fit in my ear so they don't fall out.

the bell shaped foam ones are the only ones that ever worked for me, you can buy them at just about any drug store, I roll them very skinny and push them deep in my ear before they expand again, with enough hanging out to pull them out later of course.

Yeah I know what you mean. I get them to fit by smooshing in the part that goes in you ear. Then the back just barely goes past your ear. Sometimes I push in the back. sometimes it get worse by doing that.
Hope that helps. Sorry if I'm not much help.

Why do you think summer sucks?

I don't have a car so I end up walking most of the time since the bus system in this city sucks.

So, until it's below 70 degrees outside I'm always covered with sweat. I even have to take my coat off and wear just my sleeveless top when it's only 50 degrees out once the sun has been shining down on me for about 30 minutes while I walk.

Since the summer is when I do sweat the most and can't escape the heat (well, unless a kind cook will let me stand in their freezer at a restaurant) I am miserable all the time.

Get the in-ear ones. They stay in your ears and they're comfortable, the ones you have are probably too big.

The proper way to insert ear plugs:

With your left hand reach around the top of you head and pull the top of you ear upwards and insert the ear plug into the canal. repeat with the other side using your right hand. This was a lesson I learned taking a safety course at a technical college.

Look at the L R symbol. If there not in the right ear then thats probably why they cant stay in.

Almost all of them have L and R. Put them in according to that. If that fails... I'm sorry I don't know what to do if it fails... The L and R should work tho.

I only have success with those yellow cylindrical ones.

I roll them up, really tight, and quickly mash'em as deep in my ear as I can. Don't worry about getting them out again, they usually come out easily (and if they don't - well, most people are not very interesting anyway :)).

They have to be deep. So the end of the plug is level with the outer edge of your ear - maybe a little deeper.

know this sounds gross but just enough ear wax in you ears then it will help the plugs stick on. It work. usally i get ear wax after taking a shower and it appears that theres lots of ear wax in my ear. LOL.

I don't like earwax at all. Besides, I have a cat and it's hard enough to get her away when I'm removing the earwax so leaving it in is not only impossible for me, but she'd be licking it out anyways.

If you go shooting use ear plugs and muffs. That is the advise I got from several police officers. Ear plugs alone can come loose if not properly inserted and you can have severe hearing loss!
