Chivalry means doing kind things for people for no profit or advantage. Holding doors open (supposedly men do it for women, but I've done it for men if their hands are full), letting someone else go first (again it used to be men doing this for women), little gestures of kindness for no particular reason. Chivalry is said to be dead because apparently rudeness and ME FIRST is taking over. Yet I do see little acts of chivalry here and there. I think people say chivalry is dead when something rude is done directly in front of them or to them. If wouldn't hurt, though, to teach our children to be kind rather than thoughtless, just for the sake of it.
Its referring to the fact that Men being Romantic is fast decreasing. Many men now have been either not taught the way they should be taught to be a proper man, or Society has made it regarded is old world terms and not relevant in our century.
Chivalry began as the rules and customs of medieval knighthood, went on to mean chivalrous acts or gallant deeds, and today chivalry is dead means the good and gallant customs of men toward women has been lost or abandoned by men.
I agree with men forgetting what chivalry really means & that they are so headstrong against this women's rights that this is what has caused them to "forget". THANK GOD I have found one of the "rare" gems who knows EXACTLY how to treat a woman. I love you ALLEN!!!!
