its actually due to how long their ancestors were in the sun. since they live in little tribes and stuff and were and are constantly outside therefore getting more sun leading to darker skin

And he's got it backwards- darker skin was here first. LIGHTER skin is the adaptation, from when humans moved out of Africa into colder climes.

True^ not all are from Africa though

Originally yes they are. The Homo sapiens species originated in what is now Ethiopia.

People adapted to their surroundings like the weather and climate so people that lived in a hot climate their skin adapted to be able to withstand the rays of the Sun by containing more melatonin then the skin of those that lived in cold climate areas and eventually became a part of their dna

Really who made you the authority on skin color you obviously missed your history and anthropology class is in high school
Report as
Ok then explain this to me. Why are people from Peru (where it as at hot as or hotter than Africa) are light brown and have normal hair. And people in Africa are very dark black and have the tight hair? Very similar weather/climate, a lot of plant life.. same basic conditions. Since you too anthro 101 I'm sure this one is easy for you.
Report as
Peru is NOT the same conditions as sub-Saharan Africa. Amero-Indians are descended from groups that migrated across the Bering Strait land bridge less than 20,000 years ago. That is why they look Mongoloid not Negroid.
Report as
besides if you remember correctly the French English and Spanish colonizes the Americas and they were mostly caucasian in skin tone they eventually intergrated with the natives thus altering the skin colors for example after World War 2 a lot of Germans fled to Argentina so now many Argentinians have fair skin and eyes that are of color
Report as
To be fair you had it a bit backwards- we all started out black, and lighter skins were more prevalent in the gene pool as humans migrated out of Africa.

Well, I think that the people eventually moved to other countries, and the sun in Africa is very strong, its a desert, no? therefore, they become Africans. African Americans were originally slaves that were traded in history, then they rebelled and they were admitted human beings....

Science has proven that we all carry the DNA of one African ancestor. As people multiplied and spread over the planet, the climate determined the amount of color in their skin, for example Blue eyed blondes developed in cool climates and dark eyes- hair -skin developed where
the sun was hotter. If Iran truly is the Garden of Eden, as scientists have agreed, A&E were probably not very White.

Science doesn't agree on anything like that you liar.
Report as
Scientists have never agreed there WAS a Garden of Eden. In fact, a majority of scientists reject the Genesis and Exodus tales as myths. It's a matter of historical record that those stories are predated by Sumerian myths of the same type- the Israelite myths were based on those.
Report as
And science has illustrated we evolved from a POPULATION of hominids- we didn't come from one mating pair. The so-called "genetic Eve" is just the furthest one back we can all trace in common. She wasn't the first of the Homo sapiens.

They were probably not white . The bible does not say they were white. Probably much darker like Palestine. But to give possibility on the color of people environmental evolution or the tower of babel when language was changed. Some other thought on it was the mark god gave cane. I don't hold to that one personally but some do. There are 5 colors of dust and being made from the dust of the earth there are 5 colors of mankind. These are the explanations iv heard different bible believing people say. Hope that helps. oh almost forgot one more noah had a dark skinned kid

Humans evolved around 200,000 years ago in what is now Northern Ethiopia- all humans started out black. There was no "Adam and Eve".

Lighter skins came about as humans migrated into colder climates, when those individuals with mutations for less melanin survived or reproduced more successfully than those with more. In hotter climates darker skin was still advantageous and thus remained dominant in the gene pool in those regions.

ADAM & EVE had the genes of all races of mankind in their makeup:

(Acts 17:25, 26) .?.?.. 26?And he made out of one [man] every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth, and he decreed the appointed times and the set limits of the dwelling of [men],

genealogy surrounding the account of the Flood—chapters 5 and 10—connect the entire human race with the first man, Adam, through Noah’s three sons. Assyrians, Chaldeans, Hebrews, Syrians, and some Arabian tribes, are descendants of Shem. Ethiopians, Egyptians, Canaanites, and some African and Arabian tribes descended from Ham. Indo-Europeans are descendants of Japheth. All humans are related, and all are born equal before God. (Acts 17:26) This truth must affect how we view and treat others.

We Are All One Family
HOW do you feel about people of a skin color or ethnic group different from your own? Do you view them as equals? Sadly, many view certain races as inferior. “Racism,” according to one reference, is “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.”
This belief has resulted in much harm. Feelings of racial superiority have “provided justification for colonial treatment and slavery of other groups of people,” wrote Professor Wen-Shing Tseng in his Handbook of Cultural Psychiatry. He added that race has been used “to justify social, economic, and political inequalities.” Even today, racism exists in many parts of the world. But is this hurtful belief based on truth? What do science and the Bible say?
What Does Science Say?
Discoveries in genetics have confirmed the fallacy of racism. Researchers studying people from different continents have found that the differences in DNA between any two randomly chosen individuals from virtually anywhere in the world amounted to about 0.5 percent. And 86 to 90 percent of those differences occurred within any one racial group. Therefore, just 14 percent or less of the 0.5 percent variation occurred between racial groups.
Because “humans are genetically homogeneous,” says the journal Nature, “genetics can and should be an important tool in helping to both illuminate and defuse the race issue.”
Such thinking is not new. Beginning in 1950 the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization published a series of statements intended to combat racism. The statements were authored by anthropologists, geneticists, and sociologists. Yet, racism persists. Clearly, an awareness of the facts is not enough. The heart, or the inner person, must also be reached. “Out of the heart come wicked reasonings,” said Jesus Christ.—Matthew 15:19, 20.
Report as
Your cut and paste job doesn't actually answer seedy's objection. It is literally impossible for two individuals to have carried the entirety of the genetic diversity for the human race.

Scientists universally dismiss the Adam and Eve tale as the fiction it is- a genetic impossibility.
Report as
The watchtower magazine seems to have left out a few points about the genetics, that being we are not from a Mesopotamian couple a few 1000 years ago, but from an African decent a few hundred thousand years ago.
Report as
200 thousand years, to be more precise. And we came out of Ethiopia, and the Hebrew mythos was a VERY latecomer to the region. The Genesis tales weren't even penned until the eighth century BCE.
Report as
Human diversity was well purposed by Jehovah God. If you wish to ignore the accurate Biblical statments that is indeed your options. Some more info on the genetic trails:

12 (3) Races and Languages of Mankind. In the book After Its Kind, Byron C. Nelson says: “It was man that was made, not the Negro, the Chinese, the European. Two human beings whom the Bible knows as Adam and Eve were created, out of whom by natural descent and variation have come all the varieties of men that are on the face of the earth. All races of men, regardless of color or size, are one natural species. They all think alike, feel alike, are alike in physical structure, readily intermarry, and are capable of reproducing others of the same character. All races are descended from two common ancestors who came full-formed from the hand of the Creator.” This is the testimony of Genesis 1:27, 28; 2:7, 20-23; 3:20; Acts 17:26; and Romans 5:12.

The Bible never once says Adam n Eve were white. Thats merely traditional ethnocentric western human art and teaching. In fact the Bible never mentions their appearance at all. Considering the area where the garden existed - parts of what are now the middle east and africa - its most likely they were of a medium brown skin tone from which all other skin colors evolved based on climates of the areas of the world various people groups migrated to, esp after the separation of languages at Babel. Groups who ended up in colder climates grew paler and groups who migrated to hotter areas eventually grew darker over centuries.

I am unaware of a statement regarding Adam and Eve that gives their coloration. If you know of one, please enlighten me, as I've only read the Bible 30 times. But if we broaden your question 2 why are there different colors of skin, it appears that much of the reasons for regional differences is due to the strength of the Sun and the need for creating vitamin D. Essentially, mans genes are so plastic as to express different skin shape, color, body style, in order to adapt to the environment. Our genes may not be as plastic as dogs, but close.

I'm actually amazed by how many people responded by using hot and sunny climates as their explanation! Whereas I personally don't have a personal theory on this topic, I'm reasonably certain that the sun can't change DNA make up from Caucasian to Black! That's like saying if all blacks were kept out of the sun for several generations, they would eventually transform to Caucasian??? Really?

Helpful Fun Thanks for voting Comments (1)
Report as
The sun doesn't CAUSE it. The sun is the environment that selects out existing mutations.

In any population, skin times vary. In Africa, the equatorial sun meant that those with darker skins survived and reproduced better than those with lighter skins (less likely to die of sunburn or exposure). The opposite is true in colder climates- those with lighter skins were more successful and this reproduced more than those who didn't.

It's very basic genetics.

Adam and Eve is a story, even religious people don't take it as fact. If you read your bible, you will notice that in their life, there are references to other villagers. So, regardless if they were black or white, not everyone came from the two of them alone.

Its also possible to believe in both evolution and religion. For example, God may have put us on earth, but we spread out and changed colour according to where we lived and sun exposure. Or, if you believe in evolution farther back (i.e., everything came from a single cell), its still possible to believe that as God's plan all along, just a process he started. Its hard to prove one way or another because even the big bang theory doesnt explain how the big bang started.

i do recall the bible states that Adam was made from the earth (Genesis 2:7) i have seen dirt/earth in various shades never white. Eve was made from Adam, suggesting that she would have been dark as well ( what scripture were you reading that stated they were white?) obviously adams descendants started from dark to light then after the flood in Noah;s day one of his (3) sons cush was dark and settled in the region of africa later his tribe became known as the Cushite/ Africans, up until the 1st slave ship at which point we became african americans that is where we came from furthermore what difference does it make? were all made in Gods image and @ the end of the day if were not loving our neighbors as ourselves its going to be all-bad for such ones and for those who pre-judge the creators choice of color and act out of ignorance instead of love and tolerance will answer for it

The bible says that God created Adam in His likeness (Genesis 5:1,2). But also that 'He made out of this one man (Adam) every nation of men' (Acts 17:26). So, regardless of what races make up a nation, they all are offspring of Adam. The bible does not promote one race of over another because really there is just one race 'the human race'. This is also shown in Gods view of 'not being partial but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.'

Well, from the times of the Tower of Babel. When they all got different languages, they all went in different ways to different lands. Well, pretty much, people adapted to the new habitat. That s how all the different races came to be.
