When we are tired: we open the mouth so more oxygen enters into and more blood is produced.

there is a scientific explanation for that. We have some neurons in our brains called "mirror neurons" and they assume a big role even in our evolution. The scientist Rizzolatti has discovered with NMR(Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and with experiments on some Primates, that these neurons fire both when an animal acts and when the animal observes the same action performed by another. These neurons "mirror" the behavior of the other, as though the observer were itself acting. So this mean that when you observe someone yawning, your mirror neurons fire and they give your brain the command to yawn!

We yawn because of lack of oxygen to the brain.
Other reasons are nerves, nervous or when we notice others yawn.
