Any of the Gain detergents smell the best to me and your clothes will still have that just washed smell even after sitting in your dresser or closet for a few wks!

I use Tide with sport scent Fabreze. My clothes still smell good even after a couple of weeks in my dresser.

What the heck is "sport scent"? Does it smell like jocks? Or their straps? Ewee.
Report as
Now that my eyes stopped watering from laughing so hard, I can answer you. No, it smells great. No jock odor.

Good to know.

I buy Blooming Lavendar Walmart brand. They sell bleach and dryer sheets in the same scent. My son told me about it and my husband likes it. The scent smells fresh and doesn't conflict with cologne or perfume we wear.

Purex powder-fresh spring waters-and the blue Purex scent enhancer-fabulous!!!!
Use the Snuggle dryer sheets in the gold box. If you have a HE machine, use the tablets specifically made to clean the machine and don't close the door when your finished washing clothes.

if you use a front-load washer, it may need cleaning.....it will smell bad...BUT if not, and you didn't like Gain or Tide, try adding a little Pine-Sol or Borax to your wash. They will remove even the smell of laundry left in the washer and soured. Also, be sure you remove the wet laundry from the washer ASAP and dry it to avoid souring.

Do you have a newer High Efficiency washer? You have to keep them super clean (I use hydrogen peroxide once a week). You have to keep the door open to dry it/air it out and use Windex to clean the see-thru door. Using Febreeze is a good idea too.

teazen and JamiePastor have answers that may help with the bad smell problem. However, what smells best is an opinion based answer that you can really only answer by experimenting yourself.

I use white vinegar in my last rinse cycle. what sweet smelling clothes and you don't have to use dryer sheets. i also use diluted white vinegar 1/2 cup to 1 quart of warm water to rinse my hair..Really soft and shiny. BUT close your eyes when rinsing.
