I'm giving a presentation about poverty in Alabama, So I need as much information as possible on statistics & the causes of poverty in Alabama

Alabama has 16.1% of its population living below the poverty level this is 9th out of 51 states. A total of 23.2% of Children are below the poverty level. Persons living on retirement income are also having a rough time in Alabama with 18.7% living below the poverty level, while 11.9% of persons 65 years of age and over are living below the poverty level. The unemployment rate is 3.3% or 71,676 people. The total number of welfare recipients is 44,646 which is up 5.2% and constitutes 18786 families and is up 4.4%. The median earnings for male full time year round workers is $36,874.00 while the median family income is $45,768.00 and the median household income is $36,709.00. the Gross State Product in current dollars is $138,534,000,000.00 which is the 25th of 56.
