There is a site called myfitnesspal.com it is free and really is a great site you put your goal weight and it tells you how much you can eat based on your fitness level and it also breaks down fats carbs protein sodium etc with a great forum and support system I love it
The entire basis of losing weight is to burn more than you take in. Therefore, if you start to exercise, you can burn fat and become more fit. But without also dieting, you may not see weight loss on the scale since muscle weights more than fat.
Dieting is dangerous way of thinking. Easiest thing to do with kids is get rid of sugar! Pop and candy...it's a good start and see how far it takes you! Add some fun exercising like soccer, even a wii game or two...and go!!

I think that they could get fit by getting excercise and eating more healthy. I hate when people say 'oh, just go on a diet it will work great... you'll see a big difference on the scale in the morning.' Id like to say something to that, its not easy to go on a diet just like that you have to work at it but my friend has proof that people watch more than an hour of commercials every day. While they are watching those commercials they could do sit ups or push ups.If push ups are to hard for you, you can put your feet up against something and do your push ups that way.(i think its easier to do the bridge!!!) Thanks and if you have questions about anything i've said; feel free to post them. I could use all the help i can get. *
