There are multiple ways. Surround yourself with positive people, people who make you even a little bit happy and are trusted. Never think depressing thoughts. If you find yourself thinking so, what I would do is listen to music (even if you don't like music), or exercise, or do your homework -- set your mind on one goal and one goal only. And I don't know if this is a trend anymore, but have you heard of the Butterfly Project? Every time you feel like self-harming, take out a pen and draw a butterfly wherever you want to self-harm. Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone who cares about you, even in the slightest. You CANNOT get rid of this butterfly. If you cut before the butterfly fades, the butterfly lives. If you don't cut, the butterfly lives. Keep running!
you shouldn't be harming your self, but if it was to be me i would just expect the fact that life is life and live through everything i have to go through. i would say just get out more, have friends that are there for you and help you and trust me when you are happy you wont think about hurting yourself
Start doing things that reinforce your self-worth. It's a big beautiful world & you're a beautiful part of it. You'll have enough pain to deal with throughout your life - be your own best friend & start learning how to protect & love yourself better.
I came really.close to self.harming before, and what stopped me was the fact that hurting myself won't fix anything, it just adds physical pain to the emotional pain. Instead of hurting yourself, focus on the positive and write in a diary, listen to.music, read, do SOMETHING you like to get your mind off of why you want to self harm.
Get inspiration. Read a book. Sing a song. Write poetry. Make music. And remember you are God's beautiful creation. And this self harm is destroying his most treasured masterpiece; you!!! I a happy that you are at least looking for help to stop. My favorite bible verse helped me to stop. " I can do all things through Crist which strengthens me." Good luck and may God guide you!!!
Friends or love ones. Confronting the issue(s) in why you want to harm yourself, and asserting that caused in a positive way. Talk to someone who will listen and find ways to relieve your stress or fixation in actives like jogging, working out, hobbies like painting, taking photos, and other positive things.
