remote controlled anything.. (cars, planes, helicopters) if he is sort of crafty (likes to build things work with his hands) then wood working, fixing cars, building robots fixing up the yard (maybe build raised beds for your mom .. or you and your dad.. to grow veggies or flowers.. or build a shed or fort/tree house./clubhouse together (dep on how old you are and how young at heart dad is)

I'm having the same problem, my dad has arthritis in his hands so he can't tinker like he used to. We rebuilt cars together whenever I was home between deployments, but that's out. Recently when I got home we built a motorized bicycle together, but it was basically me turning the wrenches and him observising. =/
I'll be interested to see if anyone comes up with an idea for you, I might steal it. ;)

That's me! I'm like a klondike bar, hard and crusty on the outside, soft and mushy on the inside. ;P

Then that rather annoying jingle comes into play ..."What would you do for a Klondike bar?" ...;P

Have you gone to the Simpsons ride at universal studios?
Report as
No, I didn't even know there was one. I'm only an hour away from Orlando so you'd think I should know these things. =/

Wha..:D

Haha

It's an awesome ride

But wait I don't know if they have it there, in Hollywood yes

I only ever pay attention to the rollercoasters and other thrill rides, so I could have walked passed it a dozen times and would've never known.

It's 3am here so I'm going to get some rack time. Have an excellent night Dolce! I'll see you later. =)

Yes me too, rollercoasters fun

Okay, goodnight :)

@cal, love the Klondike bar analogy ! Have you considered maybe getting your dad involved with a hobby such as bird watching ? It may sound strange, but I used to get a lot of satisfaction from the time spent outdoors and seeing just how many different varieties there are. If he joined a club, they usually go on field trips to parks , ornithology labs, etc. Also a good way to meet new friends.

Thank you Bill! I'll have to do some research into that. I've always been somewhat of a naturalist, but my dad is an old school blue-collar kind a guy, sooo..... Worth a try though. ;)

i live out in the country and i always love going into the woods looking for antlers and depending on the season.....mushroom picking, berry picking, or bird watching. Fishing is always good too..... doing nothing just being there is really what matters most.

Ask him if there's anything he can teach you, like how to work on cars, change something on a car, deal with wires in the house, etc.

Everyone is different. What are his interests? Does he like sports? hunting? fishing? building/constructing things? photography? art? science?
