Why are my eyes getting dry so fast when I wear contact lenses?

Is there anything I can do to mitigate the problem? I use the rewetting drops from time to time. I can't seem to wear it for more than 4 hours at a strech

I had a similar problem an it came down to was 3 things:

1) a condition called dry eye, which meant i should avoid wearing contacts for more than 8 hours whenever possible, wear glasses more, and use rewetting drops as necessary, like you.

2) long eyelashes that were trapping dirt simple facewashing was not cleaning. For that i was instructed to wash my lids daily with OCuSOFT Lid Scrub (original formula.) It's weird, but totally helps.

3) severely sensitive eyes-which required getting a pair of prescription sunglasses so i could/would wear sunglasses out in the sun more. I got a reflective film put on my non-sun glasses that deflects computer glare and that also helps. and i was told to sit low when staring at a monitor to avoid strain but i think that's something in particular about how i read and focus-not sure.

The one the other person said or that your contact are old and that you need new ones. There are 1 day contacts that you throw out at the end of the day, and 2 week ones that you throw out after 2 weeks. Simple.

Bring the rewetting drops with you everywhere so just put them in when you feel that. Or just wear them as little as possible:):)

You may want to try a "Silicone Hydrogel" CL material. This material delivers 5 times more oxygen to the cornea than older materials. That, and keeping your CL as clean as possible. "Clear Care" is the best product for disinfection...but read directions carefully. If you sit in front of a computer all day...this will contribute to dry eye as your blink rate is slowed down considerably. Use rewetting drops. If all else fails...go to a 1 day disposable. AcuVue True Eye, AcuVue 1 Day Moist, or Proclear 1 Day recommend.
