What makes this cheese American?

Like, do cheeses have nationalities like people?

Report as

It's called American because nobody wants to claim it. Nobody who likes cheese would want to eat it. They certainly wouldn't want it called after them or their country.

Sad to say, American's don't know what cheese is... sorry if that sounds arrogant or condescending, but, cheese is horrible here - like cardboard.

it's a bunch of different cheeses processed together. Kinda like Americans. American cheese isn't even considered cheese in some places.

Because that form of cheese was born in a country that brags about itself. In the form of cheese.

American Cheese is not actually cheese. It is a processed cheese-food.
