Do you guys think that "Google" should be made a official word?
It should mean "To look up on the Internet," Do u guys agree?
"Google" is both a noun and a metonym. When used as a noun it relates to the company known as Google. When used as a metonym it refers, as you suggest, to an Internet search. And a definition for you: A metonym is the substitution of the name of an attribute or adjunct for that of the thing meant; for example suit for business executive, or the turf for horse racing.
Google is called well... Google because Google means a number with a hundred zeros so therefore it is trying to say Google has over 100 zero pages on the internet.
I think that would be a good idea, then instead of "I looked it up on the computer." It would be "I googled it" on all my English essays!!!! :)
I think it is already.
To say "Google It" means to look something up won't work. Not EVERYONE uses Google as their search engine....and Google was coined nearly a century ago. A "Google" is a numerical designation of a 1 followed by 100 zeroes.
yes but google is a number and a word already
Google is a real word.It was spelled wrong, as it is actually spelled "Googol"
Immigrationsong is right, much to the dismay of Bing and Yahoo
It is already a word on the Oxford dictionary
