Which New Years hone? approx 130 million a year...
"In the world, there are 4.2 babies born every second. There are 250 babies born every minute and 15,008 babies born every hour."
Since just over four babies are born every second, or about 245 a minute, with 1440 minutes in a day, the daily birth rate for the world is about 360,000 (11,000 in the US alone). For a week (7 days), this totals about two and a half million a week (or a little under eleven million a month and 131 million a year). Of course, this is not the weekly increase in the world's population, which has to take deaths into account.
The world's population is increasing by about 6.4 million a month: http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/popclockwo... or about 1.6 million a week, suggesting that the death rate is about 85% of the birth rate.
