Is a box of conf. sugar 1 lb. or 2 lbs.?

i used a 2 lb. bag, not box, of conf. sugar in a fudge recipe...i wanted to double the original recipe that calls for 1 box conf. sugar, 1 block butter and 1/2 of c. cocoa...so i used 2 blocks butter and a cup of cocoa and the 2 lb. bag of conf. sugar...it never solidified to the point where i could cut it (after chilling)...did i used too much butter and/or sugar? (this is 2 minute microwave fudge ..it actually took 4 minutes until all the butter was melted)

yes, i knew the bag was 2 lbs...but what do u think happened with the consistency because i doubled the recipe? too much butter? maybe i stlll should just use 1 stick of butter instead of 2?

I don't think you can double it Powdered sugar turned liquidy and changes the viscosity. Make 1 batch twice.

okay, since i correctly doubled the recipe...maybe 2 sticks butter is still too much? wonder if 1 stick is all i should use anyway?...

Measurements look right. Did you use a larger pan? Cannot see what went wrong.
