Is the word "celtic" as in celtic cross, pronounced with a hard or soft "c"?
Most of my Celtic friends pronounce it with a soft c, but either was is correct. If you're talking about the Celts as a race it's usually pronounced as a K, but if you talk about the Celtic United football team it's a soft c.
I'm not sure what you mean by hard or soft. But the first "c" sounds like an "s." And the last "c" sounds like a "k."
it's kinda pronounced like (Sell--tic)
I hear people pronounce it kel-tic
Soft c. Sell-tick.
Either way is correct
It is "k"eltic
Yes, both ways I hear are acceptable.
It's a very old word - pronounce it how you like. Now, how the heck do you pronounce 'Cicero'? Kikero, or sissero? I've heard both. Often with the word 'bloody' in front of it.
I pronounce it Keltik, but I could be wrong. I did try and look it up for a definitive answer, but didn't have much luck.http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=celtic&submit=Submit
