A nurse order 1/4 mg of tylenol 5 times a day in 6 days. By the end of the third day how much tylenol will the patient have received?

3.75 mg though no one would ever order .25mg Tylenol. I think the lowest adult formulation is 250 mg.

1/4x5= 1 and 1/4 or 1.25
1 and 1/4x6= 7 and 2/4 or 7 and 1/2 or 7.5

It may be easier to calculate in decimals. Each dose is 1/4mg which is equivalent to 0.25mg. Each day the patients receives 5 doses and the total weight is 0.25mg*5, or 1.25mg. By the end of the third day, the patient would have received 1.25mg*3 or 3.75mg. The answer can also expressed in fraction: 3+3/4mg.
