I recently found an old recipe that called for 1/4 yeast,how much actually is this?

Poked around a bit and found this although I am not sure if it is what the recipe calls for. The packets come in 1/4 ounce size. Shame your recipe doesn't say whether it is dry yeast or the fresh cake.

1 envelope or packet of Active Dry Yeast, Instant Yeast, Rapid Rise Yeast, Fast Rising Yeast or Bread Machine Yeast weighs 1/4 ounce or 7 grams which equals 2 1/4 teaspoons (11 mL).

They probably sold yeast in cakes, like butter, back then and measured it in 1/4 weight.
