Is it legal for a mortgage broker to ask for a copy of my social security card to give me loan?

I never had to give a copy of ss card
I simply gave them my name
And told them my ss number
And I've had at least 4 different loans for my house over the last 15 years
You learn as you go _

Yes. How else will he be able to run your credit report?

This is one of those times when
you do need proof of SS number. Not to worry. Standard operating procedure.
