Why are my gums puffy around one tooth?

last night i flossed my bottom front teeth and the floss goes under my gums, idk why, and then this morning my bottom front teeth hurt but it didnt bother me, then tonight for dinner we had beef and it was kind of hard to chew and bite so after i flossed because some got stuff in my teeth and now on of my front teeth is separated from the the rest (going toward the left tooth and now there is a gap) and behind and in fornt of that tooth the gums are puffy and is hurting me. what happened?
