Yes, this is quite possible but also you should have a routine for it. This is whereby you workout according to a certain timetable and also you should be doing more exercises than the previous day to push limits and to enable a more efficient work out.

To get muscular and cardiovascular benefits you have to do it every other day or you'll just where yourself out without getting fit. You need to adjust what and how much you are eating as well as exercise and you will definitely lose weight faster. Try using the five meal a day plan
Yes and no. If you do nothing but lift weights, you are burning fat, but also gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more. Start by doing cardio everyday, choose a different cardio for each day (bike, treadmill, elliptical...). Once you lose the fat start on building muscle to keep yourself fit. You don't have to be mr or mrs universe. Just enough to keep yourself "toned". Get you BMI ( body mass index) reading. Fat/muscle ratio. Most gyms should have a device for this.
