It is not the time, it is the hours of sleep you require to be alert, not sleep deprived or cranky. Most teens require at minimum 8-10 hrs per night. So your parents should let you set the time for one week and you determine how you feel by weeks end. At age 15 parents need to back off. You are not a toddler who requires a strict bedtime schedule!

Lol I used to go to bed at 8 thanks for my mum -,- so your doing great lol
10-11pm. Give her time to get ready for her next day and finish up any homework.
I think it's too early. Biologically, teenagers have different circadian rhythms than adults. It's natural for a teenager to want to stay up late and sleep late. So it might be difficult for you to fall asleep by 10. That said, you do have to wake up early for school, I presume, so you need to make sure you get enough sleep. Perhaps you can ask them to give you a trial week in which you set your own bedtime, and prove to them that you can be responsible about it (and function well the next day) by not staying up all night.
Well your supposed to be getting 8 hours a day... That does seem pretty reasonable especially when your still pretty young.
that is plenty late enough when we was close to that age and younger we had to go to bed and be asleep by dark !
10 is a good time. Maybe you could propose in your room at 10 with radio low, reading, preparing for next day or whatever. Then lights out 10:30. If you can keep up the good work then maybe negotiate 10:30 in room lights out at 11. Teens sleep patterns do change making them wanting to stay up later and sleep later but your body is still growing and requires enough sleep to do everything it's supposed to do.
10 or 11 but on weekends I don't think she should give you a bed time if she has been
What my parents do is I have to go to my room at 10 and turn off all electronics (ex. cell phone, laptop, etc.) and do something more 'calm' like read a book or something.
then i have to have lights out at 11.
i think that's a reasonable bedtime for a 15 year old :)
and on weekends, i don't have a bedtime. i just have to be quiet if others are sleeping
my parents trust that i can maintain my sleep pattern. so i usually go to bed at 11 and wake up somewhere around 6:30 to 7:00. and im usually fine so i guess its okay to go to bed at ten. And plus think of it this way, your not going to bed at 8:30 like some people i know. ;)
I believe curfew is at 10 and bed times at 10:30
I would say 9 time to calm down 930 bed and sleep by 10
Okay. Long answer coming up.
Teenagers need at least eight hours of sleep a night - the more, the better.
Don't get mad at me yet.
Teenagers also happen to have some of the wackiest internal clocks of all time - which is why I am writing this at 12:30 AM. We like to stay up late and sleep in in the morning!
However, the modern education system hasn't changed compared to the scientific research, so you have to keep going to bed at 10.
Now you can get mad at me.
(You can, as well, write a complaint letter to the school board.)
My teenagers sometimes go to bed later than 10 and sometimes they are in bed by 7. I'm proud that they are attentive to their needs.
10 Is good. Even though I go to bed later b/c I can't sleep.. I stare at a silent television.
I usually sleep between 10-11 but if I sleep later than that, I can't concentrate at school and I sleep during after school which gives me less time to do homework and study
9pm to start preparing for school the next day (ie bath, getting books, homework together, picking out clothes for next day), and lights out by 10-10:30pm.
I think that reasonable because on weekdays that's what time I go to sleep and I'm 15 too (:
10:00 pm is a reasonable time with my daughter.
Any time I would think would be okay as long as you are getting the recommended 8 hours sleep.
I'm 15 and I go to bed at 12:45 every night and get up at 9. I have no problems. :)
i wud say from 9 to 11 pm :D but i sleep at 10 :)
i'm 15 and i have to be in bed by 10:30-11:00 at the latest...
when i was 15 i would stay up until about 2 am. i would put my homework off until like 11 and then stay up the whole night doing it. i go to bed at like 10 now and cant get up until 12 unless i have to. i think 10 or 11 is a good bed time for any teenager.
Perhaps I missed it in the other answers but no one has asked what time you get up to go to school. So, let's start with that time. For the sake of my discussion say 7 AM. If, as others have said, you need 8 hours of sleep then bed time should be no later than 11PM. If, however, you get up at 5AM for school then bed time should be 9PM. Do the math and make your case.
ugghh thats my bed time is 9.. and i still have a bad attitude
I'm 21 and going to a very demanding college, If I'm lucky I'll get 4-5 hours, 2-3 some weeks, but you can bet I'll be sleeping like 10-12hrs every weekend. Everyone is different. I have some friends who get 4-5 hours every night and feel bright and perky until the wee hours of the morning... It all comes down to the number of hours you need to feel "normal" in the morning and throughout the day. Take centrum multi-vitamins if you have any worries; they contain the best of everything. -The books say 6-8hrs. Your 15, LIVE IT UP, you can sleep when your 40 lol (not the best answer but w/e)
10 is a very good time. Being a teenager is (as you know) quite an awkward process. You are continuously growing into an adult, and your body will be working hard out- making you more and more tired. it is important for teens to get lots of sleep, though we don't tend to do. it's is almost fact that quite a high percentage of teens like to take up very late, but sleep in. But because of school, we have to wake early, making our sleeping hours shorter- which can make you very grumpy, snotty, and even more tired. So 10 is good, though i don't think you have to worry about it in weekend usless you have to wake up early for a sport or class or something. But it is immportant for teens to get a good amount of sleep.
10:30 is as late as i would let her stay up
