What is considered to be the first battle of the American Revolution and what led to it?

The Battles of Lexington and Concord are considered to be the first battles of the American Revolutionary war. The battles were fought on April 19th, 1775 in Middlesex county province of Massachusetts Bay. There were several ring leaders including Paul Revere and Joseph Warren and Hancock.
