I have spina bifida and I'm a flyer in cheer. Lately when I try to pull my scorpion I pop my hip out out place. What can I do?

spina bifida is a birth defect. It's at the bottom of my spine and when I pull my scorpion my nerves and the bone collide and create tension. My coaches can't replace me and my scorpion looks like a Dorito! What can I do to improve it with out hurting my hip.

Don't know how to improve your scorpion but having a strong core can help protect your back. Try yoga.
I have an incomplete, hidden spina bifida. I did gymnastics from 5 til 18 and banged myself up pretty bad. My advice is seek advice from a sports physician, physio or osteo.

Umm.. probably think about your health before cheerleading.. Find something else to do that doesn't put your spine in more danger than it already is. As for your coach, tell them you need to change for health reasons and they can deal with it.
