I just wanted to know moderators why posting poll or relationship questions are considered spam?

In my opinion relationship questions usually make relationships because of people doing what other people think they should do.

Relationship questions cover a broad range, it's true. Some are ok, some are not. Let me give you an idea of relationship questions that are less likely to pass muster (continued in the comments):

- Does he like me?
- My best friend's ex's cousin is dating my sister's goldfish's former owner... what should I do!?!?
- Which girl should I invite to this party tomorrow?
- This guy I know is really really cute and I like him but he stares at me in class and I get all nervous and I don't know what to do and I asked this yesterday and hoped that nice moderator SherryA would answer because she seems to have an answer for everything but she didn't and now OMG I don't know what to do!!!!!!

If there's one thing the above questions have in common, it's this: there are millions of daily visitors to ask.com, and it's highly likely not one of them has enough information to accurately answer the questions, adorable though they may be. Now let's look at some examples of relationship questions that tend to do really well here:

- My husband is having an affair. I have proof. I have no idea what to do. Help?
- I'm 14, and I want to date this guy who is 25. My mom says no. How can I convince her?
- I've been dating this guy for a few years, and lately he's starting to become verbally abusive. I think he might hit me. But I love him! What should I do?
- I recently moved to a city far away from my girlfriend, and we're trying hard to keep our relationship going. It seems impossible. How do you make a long-distance relationship work?

In these four questions, there's some real substance that a great many people may have insight on. Questions like these almost always garner a tremendous outpouring of support and camaraderie from others in the Ask.com community, which is exactly as it should be, and one of the things that sets the Ask.com community apart from other Q&A-based services.
