What exercises can I do to improve my abs without fitness equipment? I'm a woman.

besides crunches and sit-ups

Leg lifts. Sit ups. Crunches. I hear hula hooping believe it or not is a good workout.

Crisscross bicycles (: we do those for conditioning in poms, but we add crunches/lifting our upper body

I tried the yoga ! But cldnt get into the whole zen/ meditation aspect thing ! I'm too intense , cool beans though , wish I was as laid back as you ! :) anyhoo yoga and Pilates both work the same core :)

Those resistance rubber bands are great.
Engaging your ab muscles while doing everyday activities also help.

Most yoga poses that works the entire midsection. I'd recommend trying that. Its great also for balance, flexibility, core strength & subtleness. Its even great for wrinkles, believe it or not. + it can lift the b00bs too. :-D
