Lots of fair skinned individuals have East European or Mediterranean ancestors, which means they carry the genes for olive skin and brown eyes. My Polish maternal family ran from blue-eyed blonds to olive-skinned brown-eyed individuals like myself.

yes, I'm super light skinned and could potentially give birth to a dark skinned baby because one of my ancestors was Jamaican. so it's possible for them to do the same

Dark skin isn't recessive gene.

I was about to make the same point Whovian. I can't recall the guy's name but this happened to a very well-known boxer and his wife (back in the 1950s, I think) The dark colour was in his own ancestry and came through in their baby.

But, PopArtDee made a strong statement and seems confident. It'll be interesting to see what others say.

It's pretty unlikely because fair hair and skin is recessive gene, but I think only expert in genetics could tell you.

yes unless both parents have the homozygous gene for fair skin, if at least one parent has the heterozygous gene for fair skin then the baby could inherit their grandparents olive skinned gene. but apparently fair skin is recessive so i dont really know.

Yes but your ancestors would have to have been olive toned.

Fair skin is a recessive gene. It is genetically impossible for a child to be darker than the darker parent or lighter than the lighter parent.
