I tried clicking the regular power button that turns it partially off and the home button but no luck. my i pod has always been slow turning to my lock screen but never like this

Plug it into your computer.. You might have almost the limit in data that is slowing it down.... Try erasing some things

Press both power button and home button for three seconds or more to restart it. This happened to me before and Verizon made me feel really stupid when they did that for me. Lol.

Plug it in to your comp hold the power button for 5 seconds then without releasing the power button hold the home button do this for about another 15 seconds then let go of the power button and keep holding the home button until itunes brings up this a message saying there as an Apple device in recovery mode click ok then click restore then it should start working be warned if you do not have it backed up on the computer you will lose files I hope it helps. BTW Apple is annoying its all automated
