How do I teach my cat how to do tricks?

I taught my four year old cat Tiger how to sit using treats, and he's mastered the trick. I want to know how to teach him other things though. Teaching him to sit was easy, all I did was put the treat above him until he had to sit to look up, and soon he realized that whenever he sat, he earned a treat.

The next trick I wanted to teach him was to shake a paw. I don't know how this would work though. Would I hold the treat up and take his paw? please answer, thanks!!! :)

Probably the same way you would teach a dog.

If it was me I'd try holding the treat in one hand and touching his paw until he lifted it. Then catch it in your hand, give a positive response and QUICKLY give him the treat. Keep repeating this until he gets it.

First off, it's amazing you thought a cat ahaha good job!! And you would pick up his paw and give him a treat. Do that for a long time and eventually when you put your hand out he will put the paw on your hand and expect a treat
