Why are my hands shaking?

I'm 20 years old and this has been happening for some time now and I can't understand why. I'll feel completely fine then my hands and/or legs will start to shake. Some of the time I'll get a sinking feeling in my heart. Why could this be?

You should check your blood sugar my first thought would be that your sugars are too low or too high giving you that sense of impending doom and why your body is having tremors..
your body could be getting it nutrients from burning fat by shaking. or your cold.
Overall see your doctor.

It could be anxiety. Other things include blood pressure and blood sugar. You should try to make an appointment to see a doctor about this. There could be an underlying cause like diabetes, blood pressure, or even a thyroid condition. I'm not a doctor, so I can only tell you things I or family members have had to deal with. A doctor will be able to better diagnose any problems you might have with your health.

Babblebee mentions impending doom in connection to blood sugar. My anxiety was caused by an overactive thyroid. Neither condition is worth leaving up to chance.

It could be any number of things from being dehydrated, to a vitamin deficiency to something more serious. You need to make a doctor's appointment. I would also keep a food diary and see if there is a certain timing with you eating and drinking as to when it happens.

It could be a number of things from anxiety(psychological) to a Parkinson's(brain) or heart condition. You should just see a doctor.

Have you recently given up drinking? A doctor will diagnose a neurological problem.
