Getting your cat to like you cannot be forced. You must not mistreat your pet in any way, shape, or form AT ALL. Cat's have very long memories. You must take it very slowly, very carefully. Pet your cat, give it treats, praise it, take care of it. Don't neglect it all day long. Spend time with it. It won't happen overnight, have patience. They bond with each other by "grooming", licking. Well, you don't have to lick your cat, but when your cat wants to lick you, that's what it's doing. You can simulate that by petting its head and get a pet brush to give it frequent brushing while it's on your lap. Just have a tape lint roller handy for the hair.
