Should you go to work if you have shingles?

Report as

The best thing to do is stay home. Shingles is contagious, but only to children or adults who have not had chickenpox. However, the people who get infected by someone with shingles get chickenpox, not shingles. People who get chickenpox may or may not sometime later in life develop shingles. So the question to work or not depends on if the people you work with have had chicken pox or not. If you can, take the day off for sure. If you do not work around people who are not immune, there is no danger. Keep in mind co workers can also bring it home, so find out about if their families or people they live with are immured..

Definitely not if they're open, but I believe dried & covered are ok. Ask your doctor.

Definitely not! I got chicken pox from my sisters shingles when I had already gotten them once. You can get chicken pox more than once
