You don't want to damage it if you want to grow it out because this could stunt hair growth and make your hair fall out. By damage I mean straightening, dyeing, bleaching, blow drying, etc. I know that for me that it's impossible for me to not damage it, so I try to keep it on a minimum and use organic oils, creams, and hair masks. I use Moroccan and coconut oil on my hair, but I only use a drop, so my hair doesn't get too greasy. I also use heat protectant. Also, you shouldn't be washing your hair all the time. I spoke to my dermatologist and my common hair type only needs washing twice a week because your scalp needs to produce natural oils that heal and grow your hair. Also, if you wash it too much your scalp will be to dry and it will try to produce to much oil, making your hair dirty. So basically wash your hair when ever it's dirty or too greasy so your hair is healthy. I do all of these things and I grow an inch of hair a month, which can be good, but I have regrowth to dye often, but I love long, healthy hair, so it's worth it!
