Because God made it like that! He could've made it square!

Gravitational force and a couple of billion years of rotating would do the trick!!! (; lol

Actually its an ellipse (egg shaped) due to its elliptical route. This is a recent finding

Equivalent apnosphiric pressure all around, coming from space.

Very sorry, but no. No atmospheric pressure in space.

Close Rolly. There is pressure that,s emitted from the sun. We are engineering space crafts to use the sun's pushing to travel deeper into space with less energy

Ellipse, globe, both round. Scientists have found the weight at which a conglomeration of rocks collapses in on itself to form a circular planet, as opposed to the aggregated misshapen asteroids we find in the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt. I don't know exactly what that weight is, but once a bunch of matter accumulates enough other matter, as occurred in the early solar system, you get a round planet.

I am 14 and I have a 100 in science and the answer to your question is the earth's core is solid iron and is bell shaped and is spinning rapidly in molten iron and nickel which creates a gravitational pull forcing all mater to pull tight and that is what causes the earth to be round the earth

Gravity keeps it all together and it forms into a sphere

Sphere describes a three-dimensional object. Thank you for seeing my dilemma.

Well, the earth is not round. Round is used to describe a two-dimensional object, not a three-dimensional object. Therefore the earth is not round.

well the earth is not round. it is oval. the radius of equator is longer than that of the poles

whaaa???

Earth is (nearly) spherical because of the gravitational pull. It bulges out at the equator because of the earth's rotation.
