To some extent, it's impossible to keep cats away from a Christmas tree.its better to simply "go with the flow". First of all, remove the breakable ornaments (if you plan on someday having children, you'd have to do the same thing). PLEASE, dont use tinsel or tinsel garland on your tree--cars can and will chew on it, and if they swallow it, it can kill them!. There are lovely unbreakable ornaments, so you can still have a pretty tree. Instead of using ornament hangers, fasten ornaments to the tree with twisty ties, so you aren't having to keep picking them up. And I have a fiber optic tree (got it after a cat chewed on a light cord and ruined it)). I find it easier to kitty-proof Christmas in my house--we have FIVE cats--get it?
