How do I get over getting a bad part in a play?

I just got a part I don't like in play and I'm pretty upset, how can I make myself feel better about it?

Part of being a good actress or actor is being able to play 'any' part given to you, and doing an excellent job at it. Chalk it up as more experience, there will be more parts. And remember, it's not always about you, be grateful that you were chosen at all. Now, as they say in the Theater, go break a leg...

Yet another reason to follow my advice. If you stop caring so much, it won't hurt you, problem solved.

Do your best with the bad part so you'll get the better part next time. A bad part is an opportunity, much better than no part!

its just a play. its not like a life changing experience. The play will eventually be over sometime.

I figured that out already; but I realized when my son started getting leads in plays that for years other people were getting those parts until my son came along. they had to suck it up and go with the flow. And if it is a good theater group, these things have a way of showing your mettle until a better part comes along, and it will if you play nice.(play well with others)

Nightowl3 is right. I belonged to a small community theatre for many years. I was the lead in a few but the role I enjoyed the most consisted of about 12 lines. Make the most with what you have to work with...character, lines, whatever. Make that character really stand out.
