Don't get apple. They aren't made for gaming. They're made for work and all if that other Apple stuff. And don't custom build. Custom building is expensive and time consuming. Especially if things to go according to plans. Don't get an AlienWare. You're basically paying for LED's. I got my PC at staples and it's a beast. You need something with
8gb of RAM
At least a terabyte of memory
A dual core processor, either AMD or intel. I'm partial to AMD because my PC has a AMD quad core. But I do more gaming then mine craft. Dual core will suit you just fine.
Staples is really good. Get there warranty too because there customer service is superb.

You should build a custom desktop! You can get a really solid system in your price range too.

Well yea man it's real easy. And today's your lucky day because I'm actually a certified computer technician. I can build you a list of components on PCPartPicker, and we can adjust it to your liking. Then even if you go looking around in the store you can compare the components that you would get from a custom build and from a pre-built store-bought computer. You can use GPUBoss and CPUBoss to do easy comparisons between ALOT of CPUs and GPUs. I got a couple questions: do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.? This will cut deep into your build because your still in the lower price range for high-end stuff.

Here is something is right in your alley if the $800 went only to the tower - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/logicPwn/saved/3BUc
