A well made movie trailer can cost anywhere from $10,000 - $250,000. The lower end is for lower budget films. Obviously, you can go even lower for indie or private films. In fact, if you know how to do editing on your own and are doing all the music by yourself, you may spend only $10.00 - $100.00. However, the kind of movie trailers you see in the theatre cost a lot more than that. You have to pay for the editing hours (based on how many people are editing and their rate) and pay for rights to the music being used in the film and/or trailer.
