Would you shun 18 year olds getting engaged?

My parents are saying I'm ruining my life by getting married at such a young age-that I'm making it more difficult to follow my dreams by being married. They say they like my fiancé but wanted me to go to college first, then graduate, then travel, then marry and have kids.. but I know who I love and who I want to be with, and we fully support each other about going to college. Would you shun me for wanted to get married?

I wouldn't shun you. I got married very young( younger than you) and it worked! I'm not saying it does for everyone, but it can if you love each other, and are willing to work hard at it. Good luck.

Just don't expect everything to be perfect all the time. It really does take a lot of work from you both to make it. There has to be a lot of love from both sides.

Thank you:) We have had our difficulties, and our issues, but nothing that we haven't worked out. We are planning on moving in together in the next few months and hoping we can show my parents that they don't need to control my life.

im not saying i would shun you but what i plan on doing is moving in with my girlfriend after collage and live with her for a year or so to see how it works out with us living together then worrie about the rest but you gotta think about everything before you put love in because love blinds people

I wouldn't shun you, because, come on, thats just rude. but you won't be able to experience being single, spending time with your friends or figuring out what your requirements are for a guy. if you get pregnet, then your time with your friends is totally over because you will have to take care of your kid(s). you may even have to quit college in order to care for your child

At least you are getting married and not hiding from ur parents or worried if you are pregnant or not in the future
Yes you are young 18 ,but if you guys love each other I don't see any problem
Young couples tend to divorce more than mature couples ( but not all ppl r the same ) if love truly exist in ur relationship
Even if you are married you can still go to college make money have fun etc
i don't know y ppl think if u get married you can't do anything ur stuck , it is not true . If ur future husband doesn't let u follow ur dreams then he is not worth it .

No, I wouldn't shun. Like above, it's worked out for some people. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to wait a little while, there's really no rush. But you have to realize that marriage requires work.
