What is a good present for a 8 year old girl who hates barbies and princess ?

This is my kind of kid. Take her to toy stores. We have a science toy store near us. She would probably like to spend the day there. This girl probably loves adventure, so look around your area for adventure geared at kids aged 9 or 10. Arrange for her to go paintballing with a friend. Arrange for her to go horseback riding or to take lessons if you are able to pay for that. Give her a booklet of movie passes. (She might like a Barbie-and-a-lighter....but hold off on the gasoline.) These girls grow up to be strong, determined, and very, very interesting. You are lucky.

Buy her something from Crayola or if she has any gaming device buy her a cool video game!

Something like a board game, or a computer game (maybe). Or make a coupon and take her shopping or a gift card. Or $$ always works. Chocolates too!
Or a nerf gun, those are always fun!

art supplies. my daughter is 8 and has never liked dolls. she wants to be an artist when she grows up. she also loves music. sings all the time so I also got her a guitar at toys r us. she loves it.
