Before removing wisdom teeth, your dentist will give you a local anesthetic to numb the area where the teeth will be removed. A general anesthetic may be used, especially if several or all of your wisdom teeth will be removed at the same time. A general anesthetic prevents pain in the whole body and will cause you to sleep through the procedure. Your dentist will probably recommend that you don't eat or drink after midnight on the night before surgery so that you are prepared for the anesthetic. When your dentist numbs the area it might pinch just a little and it might feel a little weird. After the procedure you should try getting some rest and drink water. Your gums will probably be sore and it might hurt just a little after a while. Don't be scared :) I'm sure you will be fine. Have fun! But not to much fun! Haha. Good luck. :)

You're going to be asleep, so how could it hurt? They are doctors and nurses, not people who want to hurt you.

If you are out you won't feel a thing while they are getting them out. How much it hurts afterwards depends on your situation. Mine came out easy, but they had already broke through. If they are impacted then that will have more discomfort afterwards. Your dentist will give you pain meds if you need them.

You don't have to get put to sleep I told them I didn't want to so they took all four of mine while I was awake but I was numb so it didn't hurt. After you'll be in pain for like two days and only have to eat soup and jello and yogurt and stuff but its best to have them took out

It hurt like crap for me. I had to be put under anesthetic, though, and those sorts of surgeries are always worse. It took over four months before my mouth healed up, too. Chances are yours will take only a few weeks to heal at most, though; just don't stress it, and stock your house up with plenty of soup and apple sauce!

Are you good with pain? Then no. Does the slightest amount of pain put you in tears? Then yes.
