Puppies don't know the rules yet. Keep up with training. Use a wet wash cloth Have an assistant hold the pooch still, while you work. Immediately give a treat after each eye. Have your whole family involved so that you can all care for the new family member in the same manner. Click on the link below for some great puppy care tips.
Gently hold your puppy's head with one hand and wipe with the other. After you are done give lots of praise and maybe a treat. He will then start to associate getting the gunk out as a good experience.
You need to declare yourself, as THE ALPHA!! The next time he tries to bite you, bite his ear, hard enough to make him whimper, just like his mother would have done to him, if he ever bit her!! It usually only takes once. Be consistent with your training
The above answers are good. But even as a puppy you can train them not to bite. They are fast learners and it's not okay to bite when they don't like something. Of course they are going to nibble when they play, but get on his case and he'll learn
