Where (In a retail store) can I purchase a "good" fruitcake?

I have a gift recipient who actually LIKES fruitcake!? I need to find a fruitcake for them, and I'd like it to be one that is actually good, not the hard ones that are made months and months in advance and sit on the drugstore shelves all season. I'm willing to order online, but really would like to get one at a store (in California) to avoid shipping fees and time.

Hi tikigal. If you are willing to purchase some online, amazon is great. Heres the link:

My friend said it's pretty good. Heres another link:

This one I have had, and happens to be the only fruitcake i enjoy.

Thanks Llamagurl!

I personally love Amazon, and have prime membership, so I'll be ordering that! Thanks so much for the recommendations!

I've actually HAD collin's street I think, I'm pretty sure my grandmother used to order it, does it come in a tin? It's a little out of the price range I want to spend on this gift though, with shipping and all, so the Amazon one it is.

Thanks so much for your input, it really helped. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Your welcome.

As the matter of fact, collin's street does come in a tin!

I also have the prime membership, and I order all of my gifts and everything off of amazon.

Happy Holidays to you too!

Southern Supreme Fruitcakes are great! They have more nuts than fruit and are moist. You can order on line. Made in North Carolina.

They got a lot of fruitcakes at the Jersey shore! Send 'em all to Ca. NJ can spare them for sure.
