Darkness is the absence of light (the absence of photons), and therefore does not have a speed. To assert that darkness travels at the speed of light is to make it a physical entity, which it is not. Darkness does not get "pushed" out of the way as light fills up a volume of space. When you turn off a light source, what you're seeing is simply the vacating of light (the tail-end of exiting photons). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_FFjYSkkpA
This fact is used to bring you my answer over the internet. The core of the internet is information traveling as pulses of light and darkness through fiber optic cables. If the dark pulses could not keep up with the light pulses, you could not receive this message. (Fiber optics are way more complex than this simple picture, but this is a good start).

John 3:19 says, "Men prefer darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil."
This tells us a couple of things.
First, the speed of darkness is the speed at which a thief can enter your home and steal your goodies while you sleep. It's pretty darn fast but the speed has never actually been measured so we can only guess. If he gets caught, of course, he's likely to do a nickel in the big house, which would translate to pretty darn slow.
Second, St. John tells us that only men are evil and prefer the darkness, which is why there are so many pretty women swanning around in the sunlight. Dang, I just might get off my computer today, go for a walk, and take in some eye candy.
That's a good question. First off, there's "dark mass," and "dark energy," and those may be the exact opposite of light. Just like there is matter and anti-matter. It's possible that both dark (energy and or dark mass) and light in the context we are discussing here, exist on different dimensions if they are similar to matter and anti-matter. By coming into contact with each other, both are annihilated, but depending on which has more of itself then the other, will determine the victor. This question seems silly at first, but, no one has been able to capture this "dark matter," and or "dark energy," and once someone does, there may be reason to ask, "What is the speed of dark." Good for you!
"Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
