Were people after world war able to bring guns home?

Report as

Being a Vietnam veteran I can answer for me. No we were not allowed to bring home our weapons. They are government issue. My father is a WWII veteran and could not bring home his weapon. They did allow them to send home captured weapons from the Germans or other enemies.
