How do i find out how ram my computer can take

Above answer covers it. Crucial has a small program you can download for windows or Mac. This program will tell you what type of ram you require and the maximum you can install.

There some online websites that will allow you to look up how much Ram your particular computer can take. You just have to make sure you know your computer's manufacturer, model ,and product line. You can go to this website, put that info in, and it will tell you the max amount: http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx?&pid=275357.
