It is not a hundred percent safe also it can break or be worn wrong only thing that is "safe" is abstinence

Safer than not using one ... but NO method of birth control is 100% effective. Other than not having sex, of course.

Condoms are safe as long as they are new and haven't been damaged, such as the packaging being ripped or torn. My best advice is to buy a new package of condoms and yes, read the instructions if you are not familiar with using condoms. It is very important to have protected sex so please , use them if you are having sex.

My sister-in-law is preggo. Not planned. Were using condoms every time. It's a form of birth control, not prevention. Same with STIs.

Walter is absolutely on target with this answer. They are not only safe, in addition to birth control, they are the only proven protection from STD's. And as a point of interest, people between the ages of 15-24, represent 25% of all sexually active people, but account for 50% of all new STD's. Be safe, and be smart, abstinence is best, if you are thinking about becoming involved with someone. Good for you for asking! You can check out more info on the CDC.gov website!
