Any tips to make me less freaked out about going to sleep?

I have this fear of transitioning from being awake and going to sleep and dreaming. Dreams freak me out because you don't know you're dreaming during them and it's not reality, and they're just weird. And also I know that you only dream for about 30-45 minutes on average every night, and a lot of times your brain is just kinda off and you're getting energy for the next day. The transition happens so soon for me whenever I lay down and try to get some rest and it freaks me out that it just happens where I'm not even conscious and I don't like it and I'm losing lots of sleep because of it. Any suggestions? I don't know anyone else with the problem and it makes me feel kinda like there's something wrong with me. And I do have some anxiety and social anxiety, if that could have anything to do with it. It's 2 am right now while I'm typing this, so try to ignore any grammar mistakes. I'm exhausted. Please try to answer me, I really need some help and no one really knows how to help me, I mean I NEED to sleep.

Dude! I may have what you're having! About a month ago I couldn't sleep properly, though I am not afraid to sleep. Just that my dreams are becoming more real and I would be lucky to have an unreal one to not question reality. My grandpa says it might be you are not active and in front of a screen too much. Though I am in front of one right now, just that I have trouble sleeping really. Try to be active and tire yourself out in order for sleep also keep your online time limited, say till 11 PM at night or 1 AM the latest.

Who cares, you don't have a choice. When you dream you won't know you are. Just hope you don't finish work, go home, go to sleep, dream about work, wake up and have to go to work..... that suuuuuuuuuucks

Listen to some soft music, and relax. Before you know it, you will be fast asleep.

Are they bad dreams? You can't stop dreams, they are natural. Try watching your favorite show before you sleep or doing something happy. Try not to be afraid of dreaming. I like to enjoy them. If you are having nightmares look up what they mean on google. If the nightmares are specific try to eliminate the fear that causes the dreams by: if the dream is of a movie try to convince yourself movies are fiction or watch behind the scenes vids for that movie. If your afraid of something such as, for example: ghosts, (I have ghost paranoia) look for stuff online to repel them. Like salt, crosses etc. please comment if its bad dreams or if you're afraid of something in the dreams.

I've found the more I try to avoid sleeping/nightmares the more aggressive they become. I got into a habit of 'meditating' right as I fall asleep and everything became much more relaxing. Though, if the problem persists, maybe you should seek help?

You're describing a fear of falling asleep called "Hynophobia", "Somniphobia", or "Clinophobia" you can beat it if you know the techniques (if these recommendations don't work - you'll need to see a doctor). Read this article - it should help:
