How can I find archived HS football stats from 1981 -the statistics documented by the HS do not match old newspaper clippings

trying to verify through Cincinnati Enquirer or Cincinnati Post newspapers

You can access the Cincinnati Enquirer archives with a library card through:

http://www.cincinnatilibrary.org/resources/research.asp?group=14

Or you could contact the data department at the Enquirer. I expect the Enquirer absorbed the Post's archives or knows what became of them:

You can easily get the statistics from the high school record books. I am sure they keep one. Alternatively you can check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_School_Football_National_Championshipall high school championship games are enlisted.
