In Alabama when suing an estate, do all the beneficiaries of the estate have to be served or just the executor (who is also a beneficiary)?
when my friend passed away, her home remained vacant for 1 year and I was moving back to that town when my friend's children offered to let me stay there while I looked for something.permanent. The next door neighbor kept coming over offering assistance that I rejected with gratitude but it became a nuisance and he fell in the doorway and broke his foot. now he is suing me and the estate for 1/2 million dollars. they only served 1 of the beneficiaries and I thought all of them would have to be served. the estate is worth about $60,000 with a mortgage of $28,090 and the homeowners insurance had lapsed after the death. we can't afford attorneys and our local legal aid can't help us with their backlog. thanks
